Salary Calculator

Convert a wage between every pay period — enter what you make hourly, weekly, monthly, or annually, and see the equivalent at every other frequency, from an hourly rate to a full-year salary.

The math is straightforward and transparent: your hours per week, days per week, and weeks worked per year drive the conversion, so you can see exactly how an hourly wage becomes an annual salary and back again.

  • Gross-pay conversion

This tool converts gross (pre-tax) pay between periods. It does not deduct income tax, Social Security, or Medicare — those depend on your filing status, state, and withholding.

  • Annualization convention

Conversions use the standard 40-hours-per-week, 52-weeks-per-year basis (2,080 hours) unless you change the inputs, matching how employers and payroll systems annualize wages.

How to Use This Calculator

  1. Enter your pay amount and choose the period it covers (per hour, week, month, year, and so on).
  2. Set your hours per week, days per week, and weeks worked per year — the defaults (40, 5, 52) suit most full-time jobs.
  3. Read your equivalent pay at every frequency, from hourly up to annual salary.
  4. Adjust the weeks per year to account for unpaid time off and see how it changes your effective annual pay.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I convert an hourly wage to an annual salary?

Multiply your hourly rate by the hours you work per week and the weeks you work per year. For a standard full-time job that is rate × 40 × 52 — so $25/hour comes to $52,000 a year. This calculator does that conversion and also runs it in reverse.

What is the difference between bi-weekly and semi-monthly pay?

Bi-weekly means you are paid every two weeks, which is 26 paychecks a year. Semi-monthly means twice a month — usually the 1st and 15th — which is 24 paychecks a year. Bi-weekly checks are therefore slightly smaller for the same annual salary, and two months a year have three bi-weekly checks.

How many work hours are in a year?

Full-time is conventionally 2,080 hours a year (40 hours × 52 weeks). If you take unpaid time off, your actual paid hours are lower — reduce the weeks-per-year input to see how that changes your effective annual pay.

Does this calculator show my take-home pay?

No. It converts gross (pre-tax) pay between periods. It does not deduct federal or state income tax, Social Security, or Medicare, because those depend on your filing status, location, and W-4 elections. Use a paycheck calculator for take-home pay.
